Plot
Hawaii is often dreamed as an ideal location to be; a pristine place where one’s life can be lived in an ideal paradise. Such ideal thinking should be left to the foolish or the ones who wish to gain money from such a dream. Every place has a tarnished spot, a dark secret that would rather remain hidden, Hawaii is of no exception.
People tend to ask, what is that lonely looking building upon that hill? Most reply with saying that they have no idea but a few will say that they know the dark tale of the Asylum. Most of the few who do know it though wish to never relive such a haunting tale. Like a veteran of a war, the memories are hard to deal with so most try to forget, telling such a story would only drive the mind insane. So what would one say if they were strong enough to tell such a tale? Well it all began with the very first foolish choice of building the Asylum upon tribal burial grounds…
Upon the tranquil night it was often for the islanders to hear a terrifying screech. Human nature would often take such a sound as the sign to run but it had become a common sound of the night for these locals. Like the sad howling of a wolf it was nothing more than a common occurrence. How could no one dare to speak against such ruthlessness or to at least investigate the cause? Well perhaps it was because it seemed pointless or perhaps they felt it was too late to bother caring now. Then again perhaps it was because they felt that it was the least that they could do.
After all they allowed the construction of the building upon such sacred land. Who would not suspect that the spirits of the land would rise from the depths? To them it was a much deserved small punishment for their sin, but what about the ones who resided in the building? It was common for the already insane guests to see the enraged spirits of the tribes. The staff all blamed the idea of ghosts and the screeches to be the insanity of the residents. Till this day it is unknown whether they truly believed that or not, historians speculate that they were paid higher wages to say such things. When the first shrieks began the islanders demanded that something was to be done, and so something was. At first small tests were run on the residents to find the reason of their ‘insanity’ but soon it progressed from the small tests into beatings and horrific tests such as removing half of their brain.
Eventually the islanders gave up on their demand for reform, despite that though the tests continued. The true brutalities of the tests were kept secret from the unsuspecting islanders. There came a time when the Asylum had to shut down, whether it was that they had been found out or because of insufficient funds was unknown. With that the shrieks of the patients ended and the night was silent except for the spiritually sensitive. Eventually even the shrieks of the spirits became hardly noticeable. It would appear that the time for peace had finally returned to the locals.
Once again someone dares to tread upon scared land, despite the threat to all lives that are fated to reside within the building. Now it would seem that the abandoned Asylum would be remolded for a school. If it was for personal wealth or fame was deemed irrelevant. Once again a cold wind blows, as the spirits of the land begin to awaken. The screeches begin but this time it only rings in the ears of the spiritual. This part of the island is well noted for being frequently gifted with the spiritual, perhaps another punishment born from their sin. There are countless times when even the insensitive witness strange things. What will the outcome of this second story be? Will the building once again close despite the stubborn owners, or will the spirits of the tribe and the experiments be somehow put at peace?
Only time will tell…
For now though the students and teachers must live their fated lives. They face the possibility of having their souls claimed by demonic identities every day. Some face the horrible sights and sounds that their gifts present them with. Perhaps the future of the now ‘school’ rests upon the youth. For it is in the hands of the youth that the future will take shape.
