How to Prevent Cracking
In order to deter password cracking of the admin account on your forum, ensure you do the following
- Never give out your password to anyone!
- Ensure your password is long (8-12 characters is fine) and is made up of capitalized letters, numbers, and characters. Make sure your password is completely random and write it down on a note at home.
- Do not make your forum's password the same as your password for your e-mail
- Make sure you never use your admin password as a password on any other forum!
- Never make a stranger staff on your forum. Giving out staff positions to strangers can be detrimental.
